a perturbing and innovative fusion of dance and puppetry

as part of utopia – european ensemble network for dance, barcelona-based dancer and choreographer thomas noone shows the german premiere of his solo »impostor« at halle tanzbühne berlin. the show celebrates the incredible puppet-sculptures of brasilian andre mello, playing with the desire to give life to these inanimate objects. noone takes an enigmatic and intriguing look within to discover our inner demon, to explore ourselves, to find peace. supported by the evocative soundscape of brighton composer jim pinchen and set within the austere yet suggestive light installation of the catalan marc lleixà, object, dance, light, and music are woven seamlessly together. »impostor« is eerie, dark, and compelling – a conversation with the fragments of oneself and a search for unity.

on october 26, the performance will be followed by an artist talk with thomas noone.
