»why am i me and not you?
why am i here and not there?
when did the time begin and where does the space end?«
(the text by peter handke in the film “wings of desire” by wim wenders)

»here to there« follows the motif of closeness and distance, arriving and leaving, turning towards and away, peace and restlessness, unity and diversity. dancers and spectators become mirror images, shadow or facet of the other. a polyphonic portrait creates a canon of personalities in which similarities and variations, togetherness and seperation meet. »here to there« traces the boundaries between me and the other, explores in which way body, mind and experience separate or connect us.

»here to there is one of the densest works that toula limnaios has shown in recent years.« (berliner zeitung, michaela schlagenwerth, 2003)

»toula limnaios turns her rehearsal location into a theater: a hall in eberswalder straße that seems so enchanted morbid, as if christoph marthaler had left one of his stage sets here.« (berliner morgenpost, constanze klementz, 2003)

»pure presence in clouds /// the choreographer toula limnaios opens a new venue with ›here to here‹. with the more than a hundred year old, protected as a monument gym on eberswalder straße, which is now called theater ›die halle‹, a wonderful temporary home is found. limnaios has been rehearsing here, behind the police station, under a roof of large, old chestnuts for three years. With ›here to there‹, a piece has been created especially for the halle for the first time, and it proves: change is worthwhile. ›Here to there‹ is one of the densest works that toula limnaios has shown in recent years.« (berliner zeitung, michaela schlagenwerth, 2003)

»inner world – cie. toula limnaios shows ›here to there‹
/// toula limnaios turns her rehearsal location into a theater: a hall in eberswalder straße that seems so enchanted and morbid, as if christoph marthaler had left one of his stage sets here. the choreography works with a network of perspectives and view axes, in which the spectators distributed in the room are included. the theme of the premiere ›here to here‹ for four dancers is the inner worlds of interpersonal relationships.« (berliner morgenpost, constanze klementz, 2003)
