from the outside to the inside, lonely walking through itself
in »d’un(e)s«, 11 different pairs of shoes are arranged in the middle of the stage in the form of a square. they are the companions of this path that leads inwards. through slow, robot-like movements, which display an internalized and silent life, the body becomes a metaphor of a merciless loneliness. with every step i stepped into enchanted rooms and lit up the darkness with my fingertips.

»toula limnaios imposes her style more through the special atmosphere in her pieces, than trough the dance. her interpretation is touching and fragile, as well. a clown, pathetically trembling to extracts of the music from a fair or a circus, becomes gelsomina with an immensely sad eyes. by no means funny, but rather painfully beautiful.« (les saisons de la danse, claudine colozzi, paris 1998)

»toula limnaios ensured a successful opening /// in the solo› d’un(e)s ‹, toula limnaios impressed as an excellent interpreter.« (der tagesspiegel, sandra luzina, 1997)
